Ingredients
3 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
1/4 cup unsalted butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup chopped nuts (optional, such as walnuts or pecans)
Directions
Line an 8×8 inch square baking pan with parchment paper or aluminum foil, leaving an overhang for easy removal. Lightly grease the paper or foil.
In a saucepan over low heat, combine the chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk, and butter.
Stir continuously until the chocolate chips and butter are melted and the mixture is smooth and well combined.
Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the vanilla extract and chopped nuts (if using) until evenly distributed.
Pour the fudge mixture into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly with a spatula.
Allow the fudge to cool at room temperature for a while, then refrigerate it for at least 2 hours or until set.
Once the fudge is firm, use the parchment paper or foil overhang to lift it out of the pan. Place it on a cutting board and cut it into squares or rectangles.
