☆Ingredients:

1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and diced
3/4 cup milk
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced in half
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup water
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Vanilla ice cream (optional, for serving)

☆Instructions:

Begin by preparing the dough. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, salt, and granulated sugar.
Add the cold, diced butter to the dry ingredients. Use a pastry cutter or your fingertips to work the butter into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
Gradually pour in the milk and stir until a soft dough forms. Be cautious not to overmix.
On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough to a thickness of about 1/4 inch. Cut the dough into squares, approximately 2 inches in size.
Place a halved strawberry in the center of each dough square. Fold the dough over the strawberry, enclosing it completely, and pinch the edges firmly to seal, creating dumplings.
In a saucepan, combine the brown sugar, water, and vanilla extract. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves completely.
Carefully transfer the strawberry dumplings into the simmering syrup. Cover the saucepan and allow the dumplings to cook for approximately 15-20 minutes, or until they are tender and cooked through.
Enjoy
