Ingredients

2 cups milk

3 tablespoons cornstarch

1/2 cup sugar

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  1. Combine Dry Ingredients: In a medium saucepan, mix the sugar, cornstarch, and salt.
  2. Add Milk: Gradually whisk in the milk, ensuring there are no lumps.
  3. Cook the Mixture: Place the saucepan over medium heat and cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens and begins to boil. Continue to cook and stir for another 2 minutes.
  4. Remove from Heat: Take the saucepan off the heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Cool the Pudding: Pour the pudding into individual serving dishes. Let it cool slightly, then cover with plastic wrap, pressing the wrap directly onto the surface of the pudding to prevent a skin from forming.
  6. Chill and Serve: Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.
