Instructions:
- Prepare the Dough:
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, and baking powder.
- Cut in the cold butter using a pastry cutter or fork until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk and egg.
- Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until a soft dough forms.
- Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead gently for a few minutes.
- Roll the dough out to about 1/4 inch thickness.

- Place another piece of dough on top to form a sandwich.
- Press the edges together to seal.
- Fry the Sandwiches:
- Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
- Carefully place the sandwiches in the hot oil, frying a few at a time.
- Fry for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown.
- Remove from oil and place on a wire rack or paper towels to drain excess oil.
