- 1 pound beef (chopped or grated)
- 1 pound Yukon Gold potatoes, diced
- 2 medium carrots, peeled and diced
- 1 small onion, diced and diced
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire Sauce
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- ½ teaspoon dried rosemary
- ½ teaspoon dried thyme
- Salt and pepper to taste

- 3 cups whole wheat flour
- 1 stick unsalted butter, cold
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 Egg yolks, divided
- ½ cup cold water

Let’s prepare the dough: Start by mixing the flour and salt. After mixing, add the cooled butter until the mixture becomes crumbly. Mix the water and egg yolk in a bowl and add to the flour. Let cool in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
Now let’s get to the filling: Start by browning the meat and seasoning it to your liking.Sauté the vegetables until almost tender. Then we add the chopped dried herbs and mix them with the beef.
It’s time to form the pancakes: divide the dough into six parts and roll them into circles. Moisten the edges of each circle with a spoonful of filling on one side, then fold and close.
Cooking time: Preheat the oven to 200 °C and line a baking tray with baking paper or aluminum foil.Arrange the cakes on a serving plate. Cut slits at the top of each to allow for ventilation. Finally, brush them with the beaten egg. Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes until golden brown.
If you’d rather freeze some for fun.Partially bake for 20 minutes before frosting. When ready to eat, brush each patty with egg wash. Cook for another 20 minutes.
