Ingredients:
- 2 cups marshmallows
- 1 cup white chocolate chips
- 1 ½ cups roasted peanuts (salted or unsalted, depending on your preference)
- 1 cup caramel candies (soft caramels work best)
Instructions:
- Prepare Your Pan:
- Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving some overhang on the sides for easy removal later.
- Melt the Marshmallows and White Chocolate:
- In a large microwave-safe bowl, combine the marshmallows and white chocolate chips.
- Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until the mixture is completely melted and smooth.
- Mix in the Peanuts:
- Stir the roasted peanuts into the melted marshmallow and white chocolate mixture until evenly coated.
- Melt the Caramel:
- In a separate microwave-safe bowl, melt the caramel candies by microwaving in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth and pourable.
- Assemble the Bars:
- Pour half of the nougat mixture into the prepared pan and press it down evenly.
- Drizzle the melted caramel over the nougat layer.
- Top with the remaining nougat mixture, pressing it down to create an even layer.
- Chill and Set:
- Place the pan in the refrigerator for about 1 hour, or until the bars are firm and set.
- Cut and Serve:
- Once set, use the parchment paper to lift the nougat slab out of the pan. Place it on a cutting board and cut it into bars or squares.
Storage:
- Store the nougat bars in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days, or in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
