Ingredients:

1 ribeye steak.

Sea salt flakes.

Freshly ground black pepper.

50g butter.

2 sprigs of thyme.

1 clove of garlic, crushed with its skin.

Instructions:

Step 1

Remove the ribeye steak from the refrigerator at least half an hour before cooking to allow it to come to room temperature.

Step 2

Prior to cooking, generously season the steak with sea salt flakes and freshly ground black pepper on both sides, ensuring even coverage.

Step 3

Heat a frying pan over medium-high heat.

Step 4

If cooking two steaks, ensure the pan is large enough to accommodate both comfortably. Otherwise, use two pans simultaneously.

Step 5

Add the seasoned steak to the skillet and cook for 2 to 3 minutes on each side, adjusting based on desired thickness and doneness.

Step 6

A 3cm steak should take approximately 5 minutes to cook. For desired levels of doneness, internal temperatures should be around 50°C for rare, 60°C for medium, and 70°C for well-done.

Step 7

Once the steak is flipped for the first time, add the butter, thyme sprigs, and crushed garlic clove to the pan.

Step 8

Allow the butter to melt and infuse with the flavors for about a minute.

Step 9

Tilt the pan towards you and spoon the melted butter, thyme, and garlic over the steak repeatedly for additional flavor.

Step 10

Remove the steak from the skillet and let it rest for 5 minutes.

Step 11

Avoid cutting the steak immediately after cooking to retain its juices.

Step 12

After resting, slice the steak into strips, season as desired, and serve with your preferred side dishes and sauce.

Step 13

Enjoy your perfectly cooked ribeye steak!
