Ham and Cheese Crescent Rolls Casserole

Ingredients:

  • 2 cans (8 oz each) refrigerated crescent rolls
  • 1 lb (450 g) sliced ham
  • 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar, Swiss, or a mix)
  • 1/4 cup Dijon mustard (optional)
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
    • Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Prepare the Crescent Rolls:
    • Unroll the crescent rolls and separate them into triangles.
  3. Assemble the Rolls:
    • Place a slice of ham and a sprinkle of cheese on the wide end of each crescent roll triangle.
    • Roll up the crescents, starting from the wide end, and place them seam-side down in the prepared baking dish.
  4. Optional Mustard Layer:
    • If using Dijon mustard, spread a thin layer over the inside of each crescent roll before adding the ham and cheese.
  5. Bake the Casserole:
    • Brush the tops of the crescent rolls with melted butter.
    • Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the crescent rolls are golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  6. Garnish and Serve:
    • Remove from the oven and let cool slightly.
    • Garnish with chopped fresh parsley if desired.
    • Serve warm.

Tips:

  • Cheese Options: Feel free to use your favorite cheese or a combination of cheeses for different flavors.
  • Ham: You can use leftover ham, deli-sliced ham, or even cooked bacon as a substitute.
  • Add-Ins: For extra flavor, add a thin slice of tomato, a few spinach leaves, or a slice of avocado inside each roll before baking.
