Fried Cheese Balls Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups grated mozzarella cheese (or any cheese of your choice)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup bread crumbs
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika (optional)
  • Oil for frying

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Cheese Balls:
    • In a large bowl, mix the grated cheese with salt, pepper, and paprika (if using).
    • Take a small amount of the cheese mixture and roll it into a ball (about the size of a walnut). Repeat until all the mixture is used.
  2. Coat the Cheese Balls:
    • Set up a breading station with three bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with bread crumbs.
    • Roll each cheese ball in the flour, then dip it into the beaten eggs, and finally coat it with bread crumbs. Ensure each ball is evenly coated.
    • For extra crispiness, you can repeat the egg and bread crumb coating step.
  3. Fry the Cheese Balls:
    • Heat oil in a deep frying pan or a deep fryer to 350°F (175°C).
    • Fry the cheese balls in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per batch.
    • Use a slotted spoon to remove the cheese balls from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
  4. Serve:
    • Serve the fried cheese balls hot with your favorite dipping sauce such as marinara, ranch, or aioli.
